The day-to-day operation of EvergreenHealth Monroe is governed by an Alliance Governance Board (AGB), consisting of two Board members from King County Public Hospital District #2 (EvergreenHealth), two Commissioners from Snohomish County Public Hospital District #1 and the CEO of EvergreenHealth.
The AGB meets monthly. Meetings are generally open to the public, with an opportunity for public comment near the beginning of the meeting.

Tony Balk served the community as a fire commissioner and held a seat on the Monroe City Council for 12 years before joining the EvergreenHealth Monroe board in 2014. A leader in the community, he took an active role in the recent hospital levy campaign. Balk advocates for the importance of a local, patient-focused hospital in the community.

Steve Matuschak joined the EvergreenHealth Monroe board in 2014, and brings with him more than 20 years of senior management experience with Genie Industries, where he retired as senior director of international operations. Matuschak brings to the board an extensive background in financial planning, operations, quality improvement and the development of customer-focused organizational cultures.

A life-long resident of the Northshore area, Al DeYoung has been involved in community affairs since elected to the Northshore School District board of directors in 1968. He is active in many community organizations, including the Northshore Kiwanis, Woodinville Chamber of Commerce, the Woodinville Downtown Property Owners Association and the Northshore Planning Committee.
Dr. Amy Beiter joined EvergreenHealth in August 2018, and is responsible for the leadership of all aspects of EvergreenHealth’s purpose, mission and vision. She has more than 25 years of experience in healthcare leadership positions, most recently serving as president and CEO for Carondelet St. Mary’s Hospital in Tucson, Arizona.
