EvergreenHealth Monroe Launches Online Scheduling Tools to Reduce Emergency Room Wait Times

Monroe, Wash. – EvergreenHealth Monroe recently launched a new online scheduling tool for its 24-hour emergency room (ER) to help reduce wait times by giving patients the option to reserve their spot in line for emergency care, and to check live wait times from EvergreenHealth Monroe’s website before their visit.

With the new technology, patients with non-life-threatening emergencies can reserve their spot in line in advance of visiting the ER. The tool also posts expected wait times for walk-in patients.

The approximate wait times are updated every five minutes in real time, and represent a rolling average of the time it takes from a patient’s check-in at the ER until the patient is placed in a room to meet with a provider.

“When patients need emergency care, providing prompt care and exceptional service is our highest priority. Our newest ER wait-time technology is one example of how we are continually working to enhance our patients’ experience while responding in ways that help us improve the health and well-being of the community we serve,” said Renee Jensen, chief administrative officer of EvergreenHealth Monroe.

Patients can also compare EvergreenHealth Monroe’s wait times with those of the health system’s Kirkland and Redmond emergency care locations, to provide even greater choice for seeking immediate care.

EvergreenHealth Monroe’s emergency room is a designated Level 4 Trauma Center with a team of board-certified physicians, physician assistants, and registered nurses trained in advanced cardiac support, pediatric advanced life support and trauma nursing. Providers are equipped to provide advanced care with a full suite of specialized equipment and technologies, right here in Sky Valley.

If patients require immediate care, but a visit to the emergency room is not necessary, EvergreenHealth offers walk-in urgent care from five locations across King and Snohomish counties, including Mill Creek, Woodinville, Kenmore, Redmond and Sammamish. Patients can view wait times and reserve their place in line for each of these urgent care locations, as well.
